ai’s knowledge is now at the phd level, and it can even solve problems at the frontier of research. so, as a college student, should i use ai to learn? well, it depends on what i’m learning.
i’ll use ai to get feedback on my english writing, but when it comes to studying for midterms in my major, my answer is probably no. using ai might save me time, but i would also lose opportunities to learn. personally, i prefer to organize my study notes myself and make sure i can explain concepts in my own words. I don’t want to skip these steps by relying on ai. in my experience, having ai do these things for me is useless and meaningless.
in this day and age, when ai is becoming increasingly capable and flying cars are becoming a reality, i still believe there’s value in writing things down and figuring things out for ourselves.
